Italian Design and Designers at Ambiente 2016

304x-living-outdoor-webAmbiente’s partner country for 2016 is Italy,  following in the footsteps of Denmark, France, Japan and the USA. Nicolette Naumann, Vice President of Ambiente/Tendence, is expecting some truly crowd-pleasing Italian exhibitions in 2016 that will be right in step with the show’s overall theme of Dining, Living and Giving.

Some 400 Italian companies are slated to participate in the fair, which will take place in Frankfurt from February 12 – 16. Exhibitors include Alessi, Bialetti, Dailma Brown, Guzzini, RCR Cristalleria Taliana and Tognana Porcellane. All of these companies have already earned a place on The Trend Curve’s must-see list at each Ambiente fair because of their design flair. At the 2016 event, the emphasis will be on the long tradition of Italian craftsmanship that is now finding its way into present-day life.

Paola Navone

Paola Navone

World-renowned Italian architect, interior decorator and product designer Paola Navone, a favorite of The Trend Curve team for many years, is creating a special exhibit at Ambiente. It includes tableware, glassware, dining décor and all kinds of cookware and kitchen aids in the colors of the Italian flag. She says this green, white and red array of products will be ”an homage to the lifestyle of the Mediterranean.” Nothing captures the Dolce Vita in Navone’s mind like “sitting round a table with friends, enjoying a good meal in a happy atmosphere.” So, be sure to join them in the Foyer of Hall 4.1, where you’ll also find the welcoming Café “Milano Milano.” It’s the perfect spot to take a short break from walking the show and just enjoy the moment “Italian style.”

Giulio Iacchetti

Also not to be missed will be the exhibit of industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti. He’ll be transporting Ambiente attendees to an Italian bathing beach of the 1920s in Hall 8.0. It promises to offer, in his own words ”a corner of joyous Italian culture” where visitors can relax in the special mood of the “typical Italian holiday resort” in his Café “Rimini Rimini.”
